We are Family
We’re the Hadleys, a local family caring for homes across North Carolina’s High Country. Preston grew up in Todd, where his parents owned the Todd General Store, and our family now calls Vilas home. Preston is a North Carolina real estate broker with a background in tourism, hospitality, and photography. Brandy started Beech Mountain Peace of Mind Vacation Home Care Service in 2005 and is now a professor at Appalachian State University. Jim, our father-in-law, brings experience as a retired general contractor and North Carolina real estate broker. Together, we bring local knowledge and personal attention to caring for your home while you’re away. This is your community. This is our community.

What is home watch? We provide regular checks of your home while you’re away, with photos and a report after each visit. Our goal is to spot visible concerns and keep you informed.
What is included in the monthly plan? Plans start at $99 per month and include monthly home checks, photos, and a visit report. Additional concierge services start at $35 per visit. Contact us to discuss your property and requested services.
Who visits my home? Our family team includes Preston Hadley, Brandy Hadley, and Jim Schene. We can also coordinate access for service providers you choose and secure the home when their work is complete.
What happens if you find a problem? We contact you with photos and details. You choose your preferred contractor, and we can coordinate access on your behalf.
Can you prepare my home before I arrive? Yes. Services can include temperature adjustments, entrance preparation, kitchen stocking, and other arrival or departure requests.
Where do you work? We serve Ashe, Avery, and Watauga counties, including Boone, Blowing Rock, Banner Elk, Beech Mountain, and surrounding High Country communities.
